Tree House is a new addition to the Antiparos Design Properties project.
Young Portugese architects Camilo Rebelo and Susana Martins, have been commissioned to design this property, situated on a 72.000 m2 site with 270 degree views to the sea, also enjoying one of the most dramatic sunsets in the island.
The house, is located next to an old Cedar tree, while the sculptural shape itself may also be viewd as a tree. The house is positioned on the landscape, such, that it forms a continuation of the existing landscape, enhanced by its planted roof top.
The structure of the house is like an installation, a cracked wall in the landscape. The complex shape takes references from the traditional Cycladic Village house architecture and is formed to such to create privacy, protect the Cycladic winds, taking advantage of the dramatic views, and offering enough natural light in all parts of the house.
The distribution of the spaces is made around a large central room (lounge) which connects all other parts of the house. This central room, offers a range of exteriors views, offering an overall perspective of the site. The north, and northewestern sides house the private rooms). while the Southern side houses the common spaces of the house. The public spaces are linked with two external courtyards while they open up to the pool and large terraces, offering ample exterior spaces.
